Ageing? Aging?

It's been a common topic lately between various friends and myself of how many things are changing.

I was recently talking to my old youth pastor and his family...their eldest daughter, who was born on my 16th birthday, will be 10. Oh, the double-digits are so hard to believe. Their youngest will be 6 and they have another little one on the way.

My cousin, who I remember when my aunt was pregnant with him, who I held as a baby and fed him a bottle, told me in April on my trip to Ohio that he got his learner's permit....

When did all this happen? When did these little kids start growing up? When did I start getting old?

I know, I know, you're only as old as you feel, right?

I don't want to be cliche, but....it seems like just yesterday that Jack was born. Lianna and Talia too. I think part of the reason it's so weird is because I remember a time before them. A friend helped me realize that.

People get older. People get their learner's permits. They graduate high school. And college. Get married, have children. I know it's all a part of life.

"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace."
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
